Skills for the Future

From assessment to action. Building on local strengths to revive communities.

After our multi-sectoral assessment in the South, where unemployment runs high and essential services are out of reach, we launched a 10-day program in Tripoli that trained 26 youth from Tahala and Al-Awainat in pump repair, carpentry, and household electricity.

For years, farmers abandoned their land because repairing a pump meant traveling 350 km and paying thousands, while families struggled to afford basic carpentry and electrical work. Now, these skills exist inside the community—cutting costs, reviving agriculture, and creating the first wave of trained youth who can serve their own towns.

OUR BIGGEST IMPACT: Tahala municipal carpentry workshop reopened for the first time since the 1980s.
